...looking at this set list I was pretty excited to hear it, but it just didn't do a thing for me. To each their own. But one thing is for sure...I would have loved to have been there, because I'm sure wherever I was, it wasn't nearly as fun.

especially darkstar wharf rat other one and darkstar ii. if i have a complaint to make it's the sticking of nobody girl in between other one and darkstar ii - it should have followed darkstar ii. or china doll. but would have killed the lead-in to st. stephen in much the same manner as darkstar ii. a cool song in its own right but out of place in the format. maybe it was a mellow out from darkstar i wharf rat and other other before the madness began again. portions of darkstar ii reminded me of what's become of the baby? a cool song that would have been right at home in the format one i've always liked since day one when it first came out. the mixture of jaming, feedback and electronics as far as i'm concerned could have gone on forever without end if that's possible as background music to life in general. maybe a nightmare. but more of an interlude. i can see jerry high-fiving phil from up above and screaming don't stop go on keep it going i'm digging it man. but even as life itself everything must come to an end. the rest of the concert was like a preamble to and for darkstar i and ii. peace and love.

This show sounds pretty good. But ...
The tracks are named wrongly - just d1 and d2?! All of set 1 won't fit on an 80 minute CD and set 2 is also way too long for one disc. Because of the segues into the next songs it's hard to find a good place without breaking the flow. Best I could come up with was:
Disc 1
01 Shakedown Street
02 Friend of the Devil
03 Dire Wolf
04 If I Am A Stranger
05 He's Gone
Disc 2
01 Houses On The Hill
02 Bertha
03 Darkstar (v1) >
04 Wharf Rat >
05 The Other One >
06 Nobody Girl
Disc 3
01 Darkstar (v2) >
02 China Doll
03 St. Stephen >
04 Not Fade Away
05 encore break + announcements (no music)
06 The Wheel
Uploaders note: Please take a little extra time to name the tracks for people who want to burn to disc. Not everybody wants to stream the shows.

Ryan really adds feeling to what he does here, and the jams are really really good. Also, Joan's rendition of Ryan's If I Am A Stranger is a particular highlight. Excellent sound, too. A very worthy download!

I am not feeling this Ryan Adams misses his cues a few times and Joan Armstrong is not a huge asset - She does not add the heft that Warren or Chris Robinson do. This is lackluster IMHO with respect to the kind brothers & sisters there.

I made the Pilgrimmage from Tucson back to my second Home and went to this Show at the Old Fillmore & the following two nights (Warfield and Bill Graham Civic) too! My Court Jester Hat is off to you tapers, Man this sounds better than the show did! The Band was having some mic problems the first night that ended up giving the audience about 30 minutes of extra Music! The mics weren't on when the lead vocalist would come up to sing! By the time N.F.A. came around Joan had had enough and she blew a few choice words at the sound man and then got back to business. What a night for Jerry Tunes! Larry Campbell & Barry Sless were incredible together! It was great to have Joan back!Ryan left the set alittle early but no big loss; probably had one too many guitars up there anyways. Cosmic Dark Star at the Fillmore! What more could you want? Each of these three nights had there own character and were incredbile shows.Sold out show that I found a Miracle for! IMHO I feel the Warfield 12/30 was one of the BEST Phil shows I've ever heardAt the Warfield there were Plenty of Phil Bombs on a very Cold & Rainy Night (which of course he opened with!). Peace in The New Year! ~(-<) Cactus Pete

I know this was a great show because I was there, so I am really appreciative that this recording sounds so amazing. What a wild 20 minute version of Shakedown.... a truly an excellent sounding dynamic, full, and well balanced recording that can easily rival most soundboards. Good job!
